THE NORMAN E. BORLAUG INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FELLOWS PROGRAM

Request for Applications

The Global Livestock Collaborative Research Support Program (GL-CRSP) and the Borlaug Leadership Enhancement in Agriculture Program (LEAP) have joined together to issue a limited release Request for Applications. This special RFA is focused on topics of interest to the GL-CRSP. The RFA is not limited to sub- Saharan Africa and applications are welcome from all regions of the world.

Borlaug LEAP Fellowships will be awarded to outstanding graduate students from developing countries who show strong promise as leaders in the field of animal agriculture and related topics of human nutrition, economic growth, environment and policy. Students do not have to be affiliated with the GL-CRSP to apply.

LEAP enhances the quality of the student’s thesis research through linkages with a US university mentor and a Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) mentor. The Fellowship award provides for an internship opportunity at either a CG Center or US university.

Awards of $10,000 to $20,000 will be made on a competitive basis. The deadline for this limited application is March 14, 2008.
